Crafted design work for Saree tassels & Lathan's


The material required for making the design is being assessed on the condition of 50 inch saree border length and a tassel is being placed every inch along saree border.

Therefore , the material cost depends on quality and quantity  available at  the geographical location.

Material required for the design




1. Silk thread spools , two colors

    Each spool may cost around INR 12 -25.

2. Pearl beads of diameter  1mm

  Sold as a bunch of 10 lines each.
  length of the line is 20cm.
 Required at least 2 lines of bunch.

    Bunch costs around  INR 60 - 100.

3. Pearl beads of diameter 5mm

      Sold as bunch of 10 lines , each of length 25cm.
      Required at least 2 lines of bunch.
      
     Bunch cost is around INR 75 - 120

4. Matte pearls of diameter 4mm

Sold as bunch of 10 lines , each of length 25cm.
      Required at least 1 line of bunch.

Bunch cost is around INR 50 - 90.

5. Rice beads big size.

Sold as bunch of 10 lines , each of length 20cm.
      Required at least 10 lines or bunch.

Bunch cost is around INR 70 - 90.

6. Flower cap beads

     Number  of beads 25, weighing around 10gms.

     cost of the beads  INR 12-25.

On an average design can be worked out in 2-3 hours.

Making charges will be around INR 150 -250 in Metro cities.

The total design including material acquired at minimum cost is INR 300.

In case , the material is bought at least 20% above minimum price specified above, the price may increase to INR 400-500.

The pricing of a design depends on craftsmanship and finishing .It does not depend solely on material cost and working charges.

The design is finished with a single color silk thread and 1mm size matte pearl beads .  Design requires  single spool of silk thread .The size of the silk thread tassel must be of 250- 300 strands .The less number of strands makes tassel looks thin.  Matte pearl beads  are sold as bunch of 10 lines ,each line  is of length 10cm -15 cm.
